Somebody was nice enough to post pictures of some of the new sprues for the Tau.
Sniper Drones
Stealth Suits
Vespid Miniatures
What do you think?

nice to see the vespid
possibly one of the few decent additions to the Tau
but the person who modelled them must be the same one who modelled the strigoi vampires - they saw the thin and agile drawing and made the actual model fat and stocky, rather killing their overall impact
although i am looking forwards to getting shadowsun next month, and converting her somewhat |

Vespid are cool but dont overlook the kroot.
They are just as good as fire warriors at shooting and their guns are the
same power as a bolter but with a lower AP.
Their lack of armour may put you off but infiltrate behind/in a forest
and they can do some serious damage. They can mover through forests without difficulty, see 12" to the edge and beyond(great fore staying out of fire hidden in the dense jungle) and they get a 4+ cover save while in the
woods.
All of that coupled with a shaper, hounds and krootox and in combat they
get a large amount of strength 4 and above attacks(about 50 if charging)
laying into the enemy with severe force.
changed your mind about the kroot yet? _________________ Time flows like a river, and history repeats |

How do those wings allow the vespid to fly? Do they jet air out of the little holes on the ends? _________________ Heads will roll… |

I like the Vespid models (even if the Villian McCragge doesn't).
But it seems like there is some kind of weird trend were GW miniatures always have lame looking wings. The worst are those Dark Eldar guys with the wings. What the heck are those things on their backs?
Yeah, I think their wings would be better. Maybe they make the wings small so that they can fit in a blister pack?

Those links all have popup adds....
I didn't realize that Stealth Suits were going to be plastic now... or that Vespids were all metal. I think I see Stealth Suits in my future, but no Vespid. Not that I have anything against marine-killing bug men, but I already have a whole lot of Kroot, and multi-part metal minis have a way of being $10 each in GW games. _________________ "Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do." - Voltaire

What makes you call them "marine killing"? Are they optimized to kill marines? Or is that just the fluff? _________________ All comments are from a 2ed 40k/1ed Necro viewpoint. |

They are marine killers because their neutron blaster have an AP of 3
meaning that power armour can't save you.
The blaster also has strength 5 so it will commonly be wounding on 3+. _________________ Time flows like a river, and history repeats |
