|

Im just wondering how many melta bombs you can place on a dreadnought if you beat it in close combat. Is it the difference in the combat score or is it the attackers A characteristic?
Reading the battle report between space wolves and eldar in white dwarf 169, the imperial assasin places 4 melta bombs on the eldar dreadnought when in previous turns he had places just 2. I cant seem to find a definite answer in the actual rulebook :/ |

In close combat against a model that fights back, you get attacks equal to the difference in your attack scores (after all dice have been rolled, etc) using any close combat weapon you're equipped with. So if you beat your opponent by 4 points, you get to place 4 meltabombs. Good-bye dreadnought! _________________ Commander Adoni-Zedek

| that's nasty... in 3rd ed u couldn't place meltabombs on dreads, unless they were damaged and couldn't move anymore... |

if dread is immobilized and cannot do anything but stand&burn, you place meltas just like you would on a tank. _________________ This is turning into one ($@!) of a bad-hair day.

true.
my wolf playa has one dread with two lighting claws. that's ws6 and two parries. this dread also packs two hvy. flamers, auto launchers + blind grenades, ablative armour. and against nids this bastard takes voltage field, which can be really frustrating if you like to swarm the bastard and accumulate some bonuses for extra attackers.
dreads are part of the backbone of good marine force. _________________ This is turning into one ($@!) of a bad-hair day.

Damn that sounds really cool. In 3rd or later edition yer enemy laughed about dreads..
Well, I still ask myself if that's better than simply giving him 2 assult cannons .. but on the other hand I still don't think GW ment it to be that way... |
