I bet Steed eggs taste delicious - like gooey marshmellow and sloe gin...
In the second picture, the blue thing looks like the end of a real Slaaneshi champion's tail, too, slithering off to do the dishes or something.
Lovely job, Dr.Rem. Nice tits. _________________

Thanks, I get that a lot.
The blue thing is the "foot" of my desk/painting lamp.
A question: Does anyone know why my miniatures' photos come out shiny.
Is it the flash or the lighting?
I ask this because, in REAL life, up close they don't have a shine. _________________ "Kindness is nothing but hypocrisy in disguise. It is a human deception. Man enjoys the suffering of others - it gives him something to be thankful for, something to feel good about, something to feel superior."

It will be the lighting. GW paints do somewhat sheen a little in bright light, especially on sleek things like cloaks or vehicles etc.
Its a good effect though. Makes the flesh of the steed and D'ette glisten nicely. _________________ Amantes sunt Amentes |

It's the flash and the lighting; the flash needs something to bounce off and go back into the camera lens, saturating the colours in the exposure. You need to put a screen behind any miniatures you photo as this gives a flat, equidistant screen to bounce off, which lessens the sheen. Currently, the miniature is the only thing bouncing the light into the lens, meaning it has a greater saturation than everything around it, making it appear shiny as it contrasts so much with everything else.
This will still happen with a screen as it'll be behind the miniature, but to a much lesser extent.

Actually, the "nips" are painted, but due to my ineptitude with the art of "fine digital photography of miniatures" that is the best I can do at the moment.
BTW- Did I ever mention that I am color blind? I know I mentioned it on the Steve Dean Painting site, but I don't think I ever brought it up here.
I was wondering if any of you reading this have issues with color vision.

Srsly? It's excellent that you can paint so well. Doesn't fen have some problem with his eyes, too?
I''ve long suspected that I have some colour blindness as it runs in my family and occassionally I get confused over what colour something is (I misread colour, if that makes any sense) and I can't read 3D images properly either. But I think this is all more due to one of my eyes being pretty much useless rather than actual colour blindness. _________________

No, but my dad is. What colors can you not distinguish? _________________ I see the circus through the eyes of a clown.

If lay varying shades of brown (combine brown & red, then brown & green), then lay them next to each other I can't see the differnece.
It's called, "Colour Confusion", about 30% of the men with colour blindness have it.
Full Blown Colour Blindness is when you can't distinguish any of the RGB colous.
Like in the film "Strange Days", when Ray Fiennes sees the world through Tom Sizemore's eyes, he notices that the Green sash is brown.
However, being colour blind myself, I hadn't noticed it and missed a key plot point. _________________ "Kindness is nothing but hypocrisy in disguise. It is a human deception.
