The new figures with my entry level painting skills. (UPDATE) I contacted Shapeways about how rough these models were and they are reprinting and shipping new ones free of charge.

Are these frosted ultra detail? They look barely better than WSF.

I agree, they have never come out this rough before. I think I got a bad print. I contacted shapeways about it. In the past they've given me a credit to re print the model and include enough for shipping.

Shapeways is reprinting my revolver ladies for me. Their customer service is excellent, so if you ever get a figure that slips through their quality control with a rough texture or warped print, let them know and they'll take care of you.

I'd like an alternative to the Escher Heavy Plasma Gun model, although really alternative heavy weapon choices for any given gang would be a good thing.

My eyes were melting from staring at a screen so I took a break and slapped some paint on my Scavengers. the close shots are with the macro setting.

They are pretty average when it comes to texture, but all of my techniques involve washes and dry brushing which tends to emphasize the texture of the material. I also took the pictures on macro mode which is very close. The wings look flawless to my eyes but in the picture you can see all the texture and fibers I left from painting.

new hotness arrived from Shapeways yesterday. In review, the last print of the miniatures was textured and nasty so Shapeways reprinted and shipped at no cost to me. I slapped a quick base coat on.

That does look a lot better. The surface texture seems to be around the level of metal casts.

You can expect some business from me in about a month - my card is maxed out at the moment :-(

I have found that the knives are on the thin side (within printing standards) but too fragile. I am making thicker knives on all the new figures.

A slightly better pic.
