That's right folks, you can now download the Urban War: METROPOLIS rules in a massive 15 meg PDF file for free.

http://urbanmammoth.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=3371

Metropolis is Urban Mammoth's answer to Necromunda. You play squad sized 'gangs' scouting and fighting over the blasted world of Iskandria. In case you aren't already aware, Urban Mammoth is the successor to I-Kore and the game takes place in the Void universe with the familiar Void factions of Viridians, Junkers, Syntha and Vasa.

Oh, and the 132 page rulebook is gorgeously illustrated. :D

So did you download them? What do you think?

If I had more time on my hands, I would definitely force everyone at the local game store to play this. If only to see how it compares to Necromunda.

The old Void rules were known for being a fast set of skirmish rules. I'd like to see what Urban War: Metropolis is like since it adds details to what was already a promising system.

I have been having a quick skim through, I have not read enough of the rules to give my opinion really, gimme another couple of hours and I will post again and let you know.

Stylistically though I sort of love it but I sort of hate it too. Its a form of geek porn, full of obviously japanese inspired mecha, scantly clad marvelesque women (they seem to have come as close as they can to showing nipples without being the target of an american witch hunt :P) and big guns. I am not a big fan of mecha but this lot does interest me a little, however if the person playing against me does the effects for the voice activated weapons I will be blushing as I leave. Over all the way it is presented is very good, a few niggles like bent gun barrels and lack of facial detail is quite annoying.

I'm gonna go look at the models if they are available and see if they hold up to the art. :D

There website has an online store which stocks the Void line. They have re-organized it a bit since they were I-Kore. But most of it seems to be there.

Thanks. When I first saw some of them I thought they would make great necro figs for some of my gangs.

Scotia-grendel have a lot of the void 1.1 era minis.
(if not all). I picked up a couple of junkers buggies (marauders - 2 man gunjeep, 2"x3" roughly) from them. Looking at getting some more viper wing bikes, to fill my IG rough riders (40k) unit out.

Edit: It seems they ( UM ) have acquired the back catalogue. These are the 1.1 minis I was referring to.
