Has anyone seen this teaser trailer yet?

It looks kind of cool, for a teaser I mean.

Fallout Nerd Tid-bit:

The song playing, "I Don't Want to Set The World on Fire," by the Inkspots, was originally slated to be the introduction song to Fallout 1, but Interplay couldn't get the rights to it, so they settled for "Maybe," by the Inkspots instead.

Maybe Bethsoft might know what it's doing... Pete Hines says that the footage of the trailer is in-game rendering, so it looks like they're gonna be trashing the isometric 3rd-person view. But, unlike seemingly many Fallout fans, I wouldn't mind losing isometric view too much. Don't get me wrong, if it were up to me, I'd keep isometric view, but most people new to Fallout would not be too keen on the isometric view, so it make sense that they'd use Oblivion style first-person. (It is after all using the Oblivion Gamebryo engine) Remember, folks, it doesn't need to have the old-style graphics to be old-style Fallout. Fallout was never about graphics, it was always about the Fallout world. So, the graphics are an odd thing for fallout fans to whine about. I just hope they don't get the world or the style wrong...

It also looks like I better be getting a new video card rickey-tick.

I checked out all the trailers on Youtube and it looks pretty darn good so far.

One can only hope.

Yup, the trailer's pretty cool. :)

If anyone's interested, there's a Van Buren "playable" tech demo available for download: http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=35862

Let's hope for the best, aye?

i love fallout and elder scrolls so this will be the epitome of gaming bliss for me,,,so long as they don't mess up big time.

Many fallout fanatics are angry about good graphics and a realistic camera angle, real time combat...whatever. All i care about is that dialog options are as fun as the originals.

Never played any of the fall out series but I am actually really excited about this after reading a review in pc gamer. It's apparently going to be similar to oblivion in ways but in other ways completely different. I love the targeting system where basically the game pauses and u decide what to hit; weapon, arm, head, body etc, each place has a % to hit and also a %to damage as well as other effects.
Also the npc are meant to be quite in depth, there's only a few hundred (compared to oblivion's 1000's) so each one has been done mor ein depth.

ACtually, the "target system", where you can target individual body parts, that's from the original Fallout, and I think that's a left over system from a MUCH older game called "Wasteland".

Also, FAllout tried to make most of the NPC's truly "in depth".

just incase anybody's wondering i read a review in a ps3 mag and even though it's switched to 3rd person over the shoulder they have kept in some of the turn based elements for instance, when combat occurs so you can pause the game to pick your targets etc and other cool stuff like in the originals.

They (Betheda Soft) d@mn better keep that feature in place.

If they don't it will jsut be another "Brotherhood of Steel" game. Dead in 2 weeks.

I can't stand all of the "arcade/action" versions of the Fallout genre and the Baldur's Gate games.

I friggin hate all that mind numbing "Diablo Acttion" garbage.

I just hope that it doesn't end up like Master of Orion 3. (oh gawd was that an offal (not awful) sequel to a GREAT game.)

I'll still check it out, but I've been burned once by a cR@p-tacular sequel and I won't be burned a second time.

Please Please Bethesda Software, DON'T Let ME Down.

I realised that my current PC would never be up to the task of running Fallout3 if it wouldn't run Oblivion. I have now sold my soul to a PC company in exchange for a beast of a gamer-spec PC.

You have to worry when you are that obseesed with a series of games that you fork out £1500 just to play one game...

Oh well, only time will tell whether it'll have been worth it.

I have been wanting this game forever. I basically spend my days trying to play through any old PC game just to fill up time until October hits, at which time I'll become a complete hermit.

Same here. I've been playing the old Space Crusade (not Space Hulk) game on PC to pass the time.

I've also been playing Fallout 2 and Tactics again but I've played them all to death and am just going for the most effective stuff each time now.

On a slightly off topic note, did anybody play the Fallout pecil 'n' paper RPG that some guy had made? Direct port of the computer game mechanics (too much maths involved unless you trimmed combat down), or the skirmish rules that came in the Special Edition pack of Tactics?

If anybody wants any of the files (Space Crusade or Fallout stuff) then just PM me your email address.

Never did play it, but I remember it. Probably even still hiding in a file folder on my computer...
