Hi everyone, so i downloaded the demo for empire total war... it rocked so much a$$, i am buying it the second it is out.

with that said, the video and game play ran a little choppy on my computer, though it ran fine on my brothers... but he has a beast of a computer he built just 2 or 3 months ago. anyway... i think it is my video card (as its a little old) i have the a xfx gs 7600. what should i upgrade to?

i have an intel 2.6 quad core, intel d975xbx2 mother board and 4 gig or ram. anyone know good compatible video cards? i was thinkin the xfx gts 8800, but will that fit my mother board?

My computer is very similar to yours, and I upgraded my video card to a Nvidia 9600 for just under $200, and with Circuit City on the outs, odds are you can get one for a fairly good price.

Don't forget places like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com, if you aren't a fan of retail prices! :D Typically, whenever I build a new PC (which I'm about to do here really soon), I order a barebones kit from Tiger Direct, and anything else I may need (OEM, memory, video card, etc) from Newegg.

Mmm no i'd go with your original thought.
The 8800GTS while an older card (not really) will give you far more bang for your buck.
I presume you mean the G92 core 512 meg version of the 8800 GTS, not the 'actually old' G80 core, 320 or 640 meg versions of the 8800GTS.
