I was looking forward to it as well, then they decided to use cell shaded graphics and bizarre character physiques, now i'm not so impressed.

personally, with the old graphics i would have just overlooked Borderlands as a F3 wannabe with the grey-brown yuck colours.
i do have to admit the Bric does look strange
and some of the dialogue is quite funny(for an teen like me) like when scooter says stuff like "he messed up ma maws lady parts!"

jejeje.. i already played it... and is really great... the gameplay is intuitive and easy to learn... in my first our in the standard mode (AKA normal mode) I earned level 9 playing as a soldier... lovely shotguns and 'nades xtras... The cel-shaded is an excelent style very understimated because it dosen't look to be realistic, but to be "freakin' awesome!" Is the 3D version of the comic style, and for those who love comic (i do) Is a good style. And is a good world to get a couple of ideas for necromunda IMO.

If u wanna play it i really recomend single-player... even if multi sounds good i still prefere to play it just me and my shield-auto cannon and six-bullets shotgun :D

A bad thing: CHeck the jumps of the units, is kinda messy, i believe is the gravity of the planet, but meehhh... and some models go trought others models while walking...

Overall a good game... really fun if you love: FPS, COMICS and ofcourse bizarre-futuristic worlds :D

That's the funny thing though, if you go back and look at the original trailers.... it was about as realistic as it got, then someone in the art department got real lazy is my guess.

Cheesey voice acting aside of course.
Had they stuck with the original art direction i would have at least bought it, slipped a long way down my 'to buy' list now.

Lol, thats not a gameplay trailer.

This one is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDSRdp6A ... re=related

and it looks the same.

The game is freakin sweet, you should def play it.

The gfx do take a bit of getting used to but they do look good and give it a very unique look in a genre where basically all games look the same.

The RPG aspects are also very well done and Bordelands stands out as the only very good cross genre game ive seen.

I never claimed it was a game play trailer, but generally games try and stick close to, or render cut scenes in the games engine.
That said, the footage at least in that trailer isn't as toony as i'd seen in many other trailers.

Well, the cel-shaded style is not "toony" as you said, yeah, we have to admit that the style isn't looking for realistic graphics, but thats why the graphics are so great... Because the style step aside from the standard look of all others FPS outta there... So, yeah it maybe dosen't use the cry3 engine to look "realistic" but in its own world and style is xtremely good...

All in all, go a give it a try, maybe u'll find a good game-style for you, i'm really attached to the shotgun/grenades soldier... But the siren with the psiquic powers look interesting... ohh, and there's a goliath-like character XD

Personally im a big fan on the hunter :)
Sniping is clearly for the win.

Ive also starter a soldier and have to say that it is much easier than the sniper, especially against bosses.
