Hi everyone. First post here at EF. I just had to create an account to say how AWESOME this conversion is!

If you're looking for a nice model to add to the crew, check out this WarMachine figure:

http://www.thewarstore.com/product21816.html

He paints up nicely and would look great with the rest of the rednecks!

OK before I say anything else, no I don't have any new pictures, yet. And they won't be anything of a huge revelation either. It has been a very long time since I could get any work on the beastie or gang done.

That said, I have been working on the rig the last few nights and have some minor-ish things done. All of the doors have been hinged, the few that were on before were torn off and reinforced. Well the doors on the treads, leading into the engine compartment and the 'tool bay'. I have some tools yet to add to that one. Some shovels, hammer, blow torch, another odd bit or two if it won't end up too cluttered. More detailing of the exterior has been done. A radar dish and some antennae. And a lot of gap filling has been done, much more of this do do as well. If I just paint it without filling the major gaps, it will look pretty shitty so bear with me.

So nothing really spectacular, just the fine tuning of everything before I can get it to paint stage. I have been forcing myself to get back to the rig and make sure I complete it before I begin work on the massive trailer. It may be huge, but it will not require nearly as much time in the detailing as the rig has. If you want pictures of the current progress, just say so and I will attempt to get some taken thomorrow night-ish.

Larkins: I can do a tutorial on the bottle if you want. it wasn't that hard. I have one sculpted up so I can GS cast it for littering the rig and bases.

sgtshellback: Thanks for that link!! I love that mechanic and will definitely be getting him, even if he is not used straight away. Perfect mechanic!!

warpscum: When I get back to the weapons again, I will be giving the auto-shotty a drum clip. I think it will look the best for what I am attempting to accomplish.

New computer, shitty new photo editing software. blah. Wish I could host them somewhere that you could see the images more close up, the clarity on a close in scale is pretty good. Much better than I had expected. On with the show....

Nothing earth shattering about this update. Though I am back on the proverbial horse, attempting to get a few hours modeling in several nights per week, so hopefully you'll be seeing much more frequent updates in the near future. No promises though.

Front view with the newly re-hinged doors opened for your viewing pleasure. Also visible is the radar dish added to the front center of the roof.

Image

Another right side view.

*Edit*

Forgot all about those pesky Ion Cannon's. You can see the attempt made to de-Tau-ify them in this shot, and one or two other pictures in this update. If I remember I will take some better views of this later on.

*/Edit*

Image

Tool compartment for those pesky breakdowns that need some quick roadside repair.

Image

You can sort of see the shovel hung inside the hatch from this angle.

Image

Left side doors opened. You may also note some aerial equipment recently mounted to the roof. The Ash wastes are a rough place full of storms and whatnot so I figure they will need all kinds of gear to penetrate the gloom just to 'safely' reach their intended destination. Most important, however, the constant flow of porn, Nascar vids and video gaming to the big screen must not be interrupted, at any cost!!

Image

Close up of the ladder climbing to the crew compartment door.

Image

There ya have it. Nothing all too showy added, just some bits and pieces and a lot of gap filling. I am getting pretty close to completion of the exterior and almost think I am going to paint it up before the interior is entirely complete. Though that would make completion of the interior at a later date much more difficult...... The door hinges were somewhat time consuming as I had to move each door now and then as the putty cured so that they would not seize in place, stuck to the putty after it dried. And moving them as it dried tended to deform each hinge a bit so that it had to be smothed over each time.

It took me a bit to get the way to do it straight in my head, but once there I wondered how it didn't seem more obvious right away. I could take some step by step pictures next time I hinge one if anyone is interested. If I'd sculpted the entire hinge it wouldn't stand up to much actual use, and my 4 year old is always asking if he can open the doors on my 'truck'. You have to leave some of the model's plastic to make it durable.

Don't worry Krug, I am getting there. It actually doesn't seem all that far off to me anymore. Though I am fighting the urge, daily, to start work on another idea or 3 I've had for other vehicles. btw. I was just reading some Necromunda short stories and tripped over a character of the same name...

No new pics at the moment, but I shall attempt to rectify that sometime this weekend. Again nothing spectacularly new to post. The heavy weapon has been mounted and the turret magnified, or some such, to keep it in place as the metal Plasma Cannon was a tad bit heavy and kept toppling over. Working on cleaning up some of the Heavy's miniature and sculpting her a bit so she can soon be mounted to the thing. Basically just letting y'all know I haven't fallen off the planet once again ;)

OK. Some quick shots.

Rig with HPG emplacement.

Image

A couple of aerial shots of the turret. Still a bit or two to do here. handles added to the Weapon so she can actually fire the thing. Not sure if I am going to put blast shields to either side of the HPG or not yet. Thoughts? I am thinking of using the front 'pannels' with the small view slit from the OG Rhino, trimmed down to size a bit.

Image

Gunner in place.

Image

Close up. Had to hack quite a bit away from her. saddle/ pillow between her legs. Boots were very Conan and she needs some combat boots so her calves and feet look a bit rough yet but they will be covered with putty soon enough. I had to give her a whole new head and hack away the hair hanging over her shoulders. I am planning on giving her some high and tight 'pig tails'. The mouth on the mini is slightly open and will have a tongue licking her lips sculpted in. She is looking down like she is peering over the edge of the rig and I really like the effect but for some reason I could not get a good picture of her face, or anything else on her tonight. Twas quite frustrating. She will also have some Daisy Dukes shorts and a wife beater added, hopefully, in the near future.

Yes, yes, yes. She is sitting below the weapon and can't see a damn thing from that position, much less fire the thing. A standing mini, such as Bess or Olivia fit behind the gun perfectly. In my minds eye, she has dropped down to her knees for one, or all, of several reasons. Checking out what is going on over to her left, ducking for cover, or she's a bit turned on by all the wanton destruction.

That, and it's a frackin' bad ass pose.

I tried to get a good shot looking up at her from 'ground' level and after many horrocious* attempts, this is the best I could get tonight.

*the words horrible and atrocious smushed together, an old friends literary creation.
