Christmas comes early to the Fringe! I guess the post-winter funk has passed (first Colorado winter was strange for me, went from lazy/tired to being downright slothful) and people are returning to the Fringe.
Looking forward to seeing your work on here again!

Colorado winters are always like this, well, the people are. And believe me, the driving only gets worse. This year was also pretty mild as winters go...

Anyhoo, nice to see you back and posting new goodness, Krug.

:blackeye UPDATE OF SORTS :blackeye

So, I know it's been forever and a day since I have been around posting but been busy with kids, wife, work my dog and now Im going back to school. Im hoping by only building/ painting in small batched it will keep me on track instead of going nuts with too many projects.

Currently working on a rather large terrain piece for Necromunda and a few Heresy gangers to add to my Delaque gangs and some bikers for Ash Wastes.

I also have finished painting some of the models/terrain I started last year and will post them this weekend. I had a run of bad luck with a whole shanty town that I had built being tossed out along with some brick styled buildings when my wife had a junker come haul trash from the garage. Kind of a bummer but it was easy to make and I plan on building again.
:D

cheers everyone.

Well, hello there strangers. 8-)

Long time no post, sorry about that.

Just wanted to share one of the projects I'm working on right now. Apologies in advance for the crappy cell phone pics, my camera went missing after my daughters fourth birthday this September.....

Any ways, I have been hoarding the wargames factory shock troops for sometime now to make my own Imperial Guard regiment - The Necromundan 83rd. Basically the shock troop great coat body and sometimes the head with Cadian arms and other GW bitz here and there....

Paint scheme is a simple brown trench coat and black armor/ helmets with web gear a faded green.

and sorry again about the quality of photos, just wanted to share my junk :D

Have two squads built and one painted so far. Right now need to base all this stuff including these veterans with shotguns.

Image

really liked how they turned out. I wanted to keep the House identity for some of the troops and not use all helmets and gas masks, gives them a proper-used-to be-a ganger-feel.

So having tons of bitz and no cash means I really have to use what is on hand. I really wanted storm troopers so I decided to make my own using Marine Scout legs, wargames factory arms, Cadian torsos and the RT Era Imperial Guard heads. Still need some greeen stuff work but I think they will do for now.

Well thats it for now, will post again soon. Hopefully with a better camera next time.

Cheers and thanks for looking. 8)

Yes the whole regiment is a Necromundan army. Currently will be using one of the Escher gang leaders as my Colonel and also will have a Lord Commissar.

i would love to make something like that, i wouldnt even have uniforms or uniformed weapons either. i couldnt use it as wysiwyg though. a ganger with a bolt gun will have to still count a las gun i guess. but some of those home made bolt guns may look the business but may not shoot so well anyway! i think of orks as having the best custom armies but you can easily do something similar with IG.

Necromunda is one of the most important Imperial planets and the 8th Spiders are famous as well as their tiger striped camo. I wanted to make the army look cohesive as possible, with the exceptions of head swaps to show that the regiment is made up gangers from the Houses of the Hive Cities. Not having them in uniform for me, would mean that they are more of a Militia than a standing army. I chose the trench coats, helmets with gas masks and back packs because of an old piece of art work from the 2nd edition codex Imperialis, where they have a Guardmen dressed like that and the title said he was from Necromunda. :D

Its been a very, very long time since I've posted anything here in this. Currently taking a break from my Imperial Guard and Space Wolves to have some good ole Gorkamorka fun :chaos

Here are two mobs. Needs some more bitz and to cover the base slots. Also need vehicles but I have not decided on what exactly I will be using as a basis for them.

And here is a small gang that needs lots of GS and bitz work. Originally I was going to convert them to be standard Goliaths, but I have been slowly building models to represent the different gangs from Mad max, which I will be posting soon.

any ways, cheers from Beyond The Eastern Fringe. 8)

WIP UPDATE sort of

I've been thinking about doing Van Saar conversions for Necromunda for a long time now. Especially since the actual models are super hard to to come by.I couldn't find any companies that made 28mm stillsuit type models, and its been bothering me. Never did like using Space Marine scouts or Cadians as a base for them, so I found some old Urban War Vasa Suppressor models and gave em the the old head swap and weapon change.

Image

I'll get back to the Gorkamorka Orks this weekend.

Cheers.

Have you ever checked out some of the Infinity models? They have some pretty cool options, especially the Resistance forces which have that post apoc/necro feel to them.
