Wow, it's been AGES since I posted on this forum - and no progress on my Redemptionists, AND I actually removed some of 'em from their bases to start my new gang with the Heresy trenchcoat gangers I got at Salute.

Sooo...I present...the Rustden Bastards! Delaques, of course...
Image

As you can see, mostly the original models - except from a weapon swap, and a bit of conversion on the leader.
Individual shots:
Aquila - gang leader

"When I figure out how to shoot this crap, you're so f'kin' dead..."

Chains - heavy

Those two guys - formerly known as troopers Alexei and Ivan Vorosh - are the only ones with military experience in the gang. The brothers served together in the 72th Ferrograd, 'til they deserted after ambushing their commissar and beating him to death with his own bolter. Alexei (now known as Aquila) helped himself to his weapons and cap as trophies...

I'm still missing one or two Juves, I'll probably order them later from Heresy.

C&C welcome!
That's it for now, see ya laters!

Awesome! I love how you have added bits of twisted metal and urban decay to the bases. Very cool and inspiring.

I love it when a guy puts on a little effort on his bases!
Those Heresy minis looks really great, I personally ordered just the Sinister one (your Rebel) as a base for my Nemo the Faceless andwasvery pleasedwith quality of the engraving.

I look forward to see those painted!

Thanks guys! As I'm not really good with greenstuff, and otherwise it would be pretty hard to convert these minis, I had to go crazy with the bases... ;)

Anyway, at the end of the first day of painting, a quick and pretty bad progress pic...skin done (didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted, but it looks bloody cool anyway - the flash kinda kills the effect in the picture) + base colors for coat and pants - yeah, they will have coats like my Malifaux minis with less cartoonish highlights, and jeans.
Better photos might be comin' tomorrow...

They look great so far: I wanted to use Heresy models for my Delaque gang as well but all in all Valhallans won the casting

Thanks! Hmm, Valhallans as Delaques...I'd love to see that!
Well, technically it's not 'tomorrow', but here's an update - coats and some random stuff done. And started some neon-ish OSL on a base. (pictures from Google+ 'til I can log on to Imageshack again)

Image
Image

And two freehands...the third will be a confederate flag on Scraps' back. Now you can see why the leader is called Aquila...
Image
I'm pretty proud of the freehand on Rebel's back, since it's the first time I could paint a circle that doesn't look meh...and the imperial eagle turned out alright too.

And something great...I have a new table (so now I can have my laptop and my "painting space" on the table at the same time), and a new way to store my stuff instead of a big cardboard box!
So, I present "Workspace 2.0". In a few days I might order a painting station from HobbyZone...

A quick update shot!

Jeans done (not the way I planned, but looking pretty cool and convincing...), confederate flag done, weapons PIP.

Holy crap these guys look amazing. I love how the blue jeans look worn and old. And the Confederate flag on the back of a jacket ... nice touch. Plus the bases with the glow light source and rust effects looks great!

Not all parts came out as I wanted, but overall, I'm pretty much satisfied with the paintjob, and more importantly, had a LOT of fun while painting these guys.
I don't think I'll have any Necromunda stuff comin' up in the close future (but I have plans for a scavvie and an enforcer gang), the next project is starting a random log, with the D&D collectors' Illithid box and the FW event only Warrior priest...

C&C welcome as always!
See ya laters!
