Right, instead of posting my random stuff (that I do a lot) in my other threads, I decided to open one for those things...it will be mostly fantasy, with some occasional sci-fi/steampunk/40k/Inq28/anything else that I impulse-buy (I do that alot.....). Oh, and also, boardgames (Mansions of Madness, Myth when I finally get it in next January, etc).
What you can expect here in the future:
- ForgeWorld event only Warrior Priest
- D&D Collectors Series Illithid Raiding Party (oh, and the Drows too, when I buy them)
- Succubus and Bad Faerie from Freebooter
- Reapercon 2007 Sophie + some random Reaper stuff
- Gabrielle Lunardiente from Tale of War
- and who knows what else...

And just a quick teaser of what's coming in the near(ish) future...
Image

The Illithid raiding party (with a bit of kitbash), and Ulfryk Lichbane, the Warrior Priest (with ALOT of kitbash) :) More shots comin' later...

That's it for now, see ya laters!

The D&D crew is only the second on the list, so it's gonna be a short while before I start painting them, but here's a quick group shot...
Image

The reason? Well, coming up now, Ulfryk Lichbane, Warrior-Priest of Sigmar (who feels like half Stannis Baratheon/half Thoros of Myr for me for some reason...).
I decided to make him look even more interesting with a bit o' kitbash (of course, the usual 'guess the bits' game is live for this one too)...

And primed white

I might start (and hopefully, be more or less done with) painting the base today...

And walkin' around in the friggin' snow with bare feet. Religious idiot, I guess :D

But now, a different kind of update! My flatmates are moving to Dubai in a few weeks, so I thought I'd paint up a farewell gift for them :)
Like, AGES ago I bought the Astrid mini from Reaper to paint it someday...I know I'd never use her in anything, just to gather dust, so she makes a perfect gift...of course with a little bit of "conversion"...

Sooo....I present Astrid, Rock Chick (PIP)

Face/skin/hair pretty much done, apart from some cleanup on her face...
That's it for now, see ya laters!

Well, Inq28!
Now I know that I'm not really able to finish an army due to losing interest every single time...so, I'm doin' some skirmish stuff again. Especially after pledging to the Raging Heroes TGG Kickstarter...some sweeeeeet heroines there, fitting for this idea! Also, I'll get a Jailbirds troop&command box or two to make ANOTHER Escher gang...

First, what you can expect here when those girls finally ship... (with minor conversions...or who knows?)
Inquisitor Ekaterina Tarasova, Ordo Hereticus
Image

(yet unnamed) AdMech Magos
Image

(yet unnamed) Comms Officer
Image

(yet unnamed) Inquisitorial Stormtrooper Officer
Image

And of course more, but not from the TGG range. I'll definitely need a psyker or two...
But let's see the WIPs!
Aleksandra Fyodorova, Assassin and Penitent #72, Zealot
Image
Image
Image

I love that last pic of Aleksandra...
What I need to do on them...some minor cleanup, maybe changing the pouch on Aleksandra's gun arm for another knife, a purity seal or two on the zealot, preferably nailed to his flesh...

C&C welcome!
That's it for now, see ya laters!
(oh, yeah, Astrid is done, I have some photos, but they are REALLY bad... :-( )

they look great. one criticism i have is that their leans look unnatural. they appear to be leaning the wrong way.

That can be changed, since they are not glued to the bases...will be pretty hard for the assassin, because of her pose I can't really fit her on any other base OR in any other way :D But I'll try something :)

Another WIP update...
I present... Silas 'Warhound' Mornay, ex-bounty hunter, bodyguard to Ekaterina Tarasova
Image
Image
Image

I still have to add a purity seal wrapped around the sword sheath, to hide the chaos symbols, and maybe 40k him up a bit more...any ideas? Thought of a bionic eye, but his mask looks much more menacing this way...
Also, got some stuff for painting the bases, so gonna get started with that soon(ish)...

That's it for now, see ya laters!

Totally easy fix, instead of trying to straighten her out, what if you made the base look like she was fighting uphill, rather then downhill like she is now. It will look more natural and the pose that much more dynamic and believable.

Will give that a try, thanks for the tip!

Alright...done some tests for the bases on plasticard&random leftover bits...
Image

No.1 was the original idea...turned out pretty crap, can't get the color to cover the 'undercoat' properly, and I don't have an airbrush...so, I decided to use white.
No. 2&3&4 are just some random tests for my weathering stuff...I'm not sure I'll use the greenish one.
Aaaand No.5 looks almost perfect! Guess my bases will look like that...

Still need to work a bit on the streaking...but not too bad for a fifth try ;)
That's it for now, see ya laters!

What do you mean "thats it for now"?? Bull crap, that last base looks awesome, what is your recipe and step by step instructions on how you did the weathering like that, especially with the red stripe.

Thanks! :)
I'll do a step-by-step when I'm painting the actual bases, it involves using some AK Interactive liquid weathering stuff (that's bloody amazing, by the way). :) The whole weathering process takes about 15 minutes plus drying times...

Well, right now I could make a tutorial for "How to mess up your base&really piss yourself off in 6 easy steps"...on the actual bases, this stuff behaves a bit differently, so first I have to find something for stripping them, find out what went wrong, then start it again to make the step-by-step...
Any idea what I should use for stripping resin stuff from Scibor Miniatures? (lookin' for something that can be bought in the UK)

Right, this time my lack of patience turned a total (&#$@!) into exactly the desired effect :D
So, after lookin' up a safe method to strip paint from resin, bought some Cillit Bang...soaked the bases in it, and couldn't wait more than ~20 minutes to see if the stuff comes off...started rubbin' with a toothbrush, and...wow, exactly what I wanted! So, as soon as the bases are dry, I'll continue painting them, and might be ready with the first part of the step-by-step (the chipping) tomorrow!

I love it when i get something absolutely perfect when i am trying to do something else...unless of course I forgot the steps to do it, cause I wasn't really paying attention the first time around cause I was trying to achieve a different effect.

But in any case, I can't wait to see what you got going :)
