I just grabbed a copy of that old game "Final Liberation" and it was cheeset as hell, but it made me fall in love with the whole Epic scene

Has anyone else played it, or is it too old school for the kids here?

I loved that game. The campaign mode was pretty much broken, but it was a lot of fun anyway. You could just sit and gain as many resources as you liked, make up an army entirely of warlord titans and stomp over everything. Personally, though, I preferred the all-warhound approach.

Also, it always bugged me that the orks sucked so very hard. And didn't the skirmish mode include an option to play Eldar and Chaos that didn't work, or is that just in my mind?

Yeah, skirmish had Eldar and chaos that didnt work - you even get to see the lists of game units and what they can do, but not play them

as for the warlord titan thing - it was broken on 2 levels

first, you could build up anywhere up to all 16 slots on warlord titans and march over anything - it just caused problems when in city maps where dead ork vehicles blocked roads and you couldnt move

second, the anti-titan missiles were evil as hell, they could fire across nearly the whole map as long as you had line of sight, they were 1-hit instant death to the ork stompers [baby gargants], and 3 of them to kill an ork gargant, and since there was very few gargants at all on any map, 16 warlords could pwn any gargant map

but still, the game made me like the epic scene,...i wont play proper epic [ill be making up a halfbreed between Necromunda and epic] but the ideal will still be there

I remember this game as well. It had a lot of potential. I would like to see it remade or updated to current standards but still keep it turn based.

I wish the maps looked more pristine, and that I could be the one who did all the damage. I always liked that about games, like Sudden Strike, you can definitely tell where the battles where happening in the that game by following the swath of destruction and dead bodies.

My guess is modify the 'properties' of the .exe file to be 'win95' compatable....ie; right click the exe, click properties, open 'run as compatable', etc

Good Luck, and feel free to test other compatability settings, you really can't hurt yourself with this....easy to undue, eh?

That's a great game! I loved the cut-scenes, they were well wierd. My favourites are the ones where the Stormtrooper gets jumped by the Ork and the one where the tank comes out of the dust. How odd is the actors voice in that one?

L'zard: you may have allowed me to play Shadow of the Horned Rat again. Ta!
