Any idea of the size of these things? How small are they roughly?

Epic infantry miniatures are 6mm tall. With flagpoles, raised weapons or back banners they're a little taller. Epic scale is great to paint, but somewhat pointless to buy thanks to the lack of both GW and community support.

Thank you for the swift response,

I wanted to make a squat gang for Necromunda and I have been trying to find a good base for a few of them. However it seems that I will have to by me some dwarves and work my arse off converting them.

You could try non-GW miniature manufacturers. Hasslefree has some space dwarves, of a sort, and the bloke who sculpted the original metal Squats had his own company which nearly exclusively made sci-fi dwarves.

Wow, this is threadomantic, isn't it? But anything helping Squats back to tables is worth it.

As said, Bob Olley makes space dwarves (Scrunts, as he names them) and has his own web for selling them: http://www.olleysarmies.co.uk/home.html
Other option is to surf the e-bay. Sometimes it's full of vintage Squats at good prices, other times there are few of them at high rates. With luck and patiente, you can collect a sizeable force for a nice price.
And, of course, there are the new Forgefathers from Mantic. Most of them look baaaad to me, but that's just me. You can have them for about a pound each.
For Epic Squats, go Exodus Wars, Khazari line.
And there is probably more of it out there...

Cheers!
