My new love is the micro armour. I have started to collect PLA and USMC. Does anyone else play modern miniatures battles? If so, what scale/ rules do you use, and what country do you play?

I have an interest in it myself, but what about it do you like? Why is it so great?

It is cheap to buy, and easy to paint. they look great. The rules from GHQ are very flexable, really simple, and very expansive. Modern wargames play at a faster pace then sci-fi WWI style wargames. Because modern tactics are very different then WWI style battles, bigger battlefields and more fluid realistic and err.. modern tactics.

Sorry, I only play WWII armor, Russian and Armerican Armies.

I also do Micro Navy, WWII Italians and Japanese.

The modern micro armour rules from GHQ have all the WWII era equipment and tactical formations still intact.

A lot ov the battles in the early part ov the modern era were fought with leftover wwii equipment - in fact there are some places where T-34s were still in service up until the 80's, and one example in the mission building section pits four m1a2 abrams against sixty-four T-34s ( in an example ov how totally stupid 'fair and balanced by the points' style fights really are ).

Man that would be an awesome battle. I would love to try that.

I will have to try to convince one of the 40K/Necro crowd to give it a try with me. I will just need to pick up the new rules and some M1A2s. I might even have a platoon of M1A1's kicking around in my boxes, I bought some modern equipment back in the late 80's.

It would be like the British and the Italian armor battles in Notrhern Africa
during WWII.

Or the Japanese Armor against Shermans.
