Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone here played any of the Warhammer Historical games, or had any pictures of their historical armies.

I'm in the middle of a 10mm Hellenistic-era Thracian army right now (sorry no pics yet), but one day I'll be able to afford a 25/28mm one.

Also, what do you guys think of the system? I really like the proliferation of javelins and the distinction between light troops and heavy, formed infantry. I really like all sorts of throwing spears and I like their feel in Ancients, and I'm disappointed that they aren't used at all in WHFB. :( I have yet to play a game since it's hard to find people also interested.

Coolies-

Great to hear that there are other folks with interest in Warhammer Ancients.

I my self have played some of the scenarioes based on the first Crusade and the Turk expansion. (according to the Vlad:the Impaler book)

THere are several historical groups here in "Ole Virgini".

I'll see if I can find a link or 2 for you.

We have a group here called NOVAG, and they do a lot of historicals, in many different scales.

Over on the Lord of the Rings Yahoo group, Terry Maltman has posted a review of Warhammer Historicals' new "Legends of the Old West" game. Apparently it is not, as I feared, a 40K variant, but rather a Lord of the Rings variant, with some Mordheim/Necromunda stuff thrown in. You can read the review below.

I'm looking for more info on it at the moment, i hoping its fun and simple to play without being too much hassle like necro can be with its line of sight,.
