So I just got done watching the Hatfield and McCoys on the History channel (the one with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxten) in any case, I was following up the show by reading about the real hatfields and mccoys online, and I got to thinking this would make a great skirmish game.

Has anyone ever done this? And if not, I wonder what skirmish rules could be used to make it work.

Think it would be awesome to take Necro into the wild west (or in this case Kentucky/WV).

Duh, I am an idiot of course Necromunda skirmish rules would be perfect for this. Although might have to go with 2nd ed rules for the bigger battles like the Battle of Grapevine, but i wouldn't expect to have to many major battles. But then again, having the Gov's of each state actually deploy militia units to deal with this feud would be awesome too! Lots of possibilities

Somebody did do a "Westamunda", many many years ago - haven't checked if the rules are still up though.

Those Legends of the Old West rules are interesting... other than a few tweaks and mechanics renaming, its the same old system we know and love - be that Necro or Mordheim, I'm not sure. Looks incredibly similar to the Westamunda rules I posted up, too. I'll have a proper read of them tomorrow, though.

Cobblestone Casting or the Foundry have the perfect mini's for a wild west/Westromunda style game. Check them out if you get a chance.
