Free rules?

You want free rules? You should definitely check out Warspike, it's still a work in progress, but it rules! The idea is that gamers could add their own "augments" in the mix, thus enabling players to play any game universe they want with Warspike.

Free rules are really handy in the gaming world, as they allow you to avoid what could otherwise be crippling copyright difficulties.

This allows new games with some portions of not-entirely-original content in their systems (like for example a homebrewed wargame with 40k`s overwatch system) legal to share as non-profit products.

It would then be legallly defensible for the same developer to produce original (non-copyright infringing) models for their free ruleset that it can charge for, thus making back their development costs.
