Hi all. Just a few Tallarn fluff questions for those in the know.

Is there any vegetation or water at all on Tallarn?

How are the cities structured? I know some are underground and some are in canyons, but other than that, do any of the novels or other fluff go into any more detail, size, layout ect? I've also heard that at least osme of the population are nomads.

Got to go. Thanks.

I think this can help u

http://www.inisfail.com/archives/tallarn.html

specially the part named "tallarn survives"

As for animals i don't know where they live (underground with the tallarns i guess) But i can be almost completelly sure they still have animals.

'cause in some stories of necromunda some animals of the ash wastes are pointed to be tallarn animals and from other desert-like planets. ie the ash clams and striders from the "ash wastes setting"

Sand clams, eh? I'm envisioning a giant clam jumping out of the sand and biting some poor traveller in half.

So they're essentially Arab-flavored Tatooinians.

Has anyone read any of the Desert Raiders novels? Does it give any insight into their mentality or culture? What kind of mentality do their soldiers and/or civilians have? I have several Tallarn characters in my personal universe, and I would like to get them right.

I've heard that they are very pious. Does it ever anywhere go into their unique religious practices or rituals?

I have not read any of the books concerning the Tallarn. Forge World featured them in one of the Imperial Armour books. They've made a line of new miniatures for them, including some animals called Mukaali that Tallarn Rough Riders can use as mounts. I don't know if Mukaali are supposed to be surviving native creatures or something brought from off-world that could handle the desert environment.

That's a cool link. I'd known about the Mukaali and I always thought they were native.

Anyone know if there is any artwork of Tallarn? There was some on the Tallarn page on GW's website but i can't find the page anymore. Anyone have a link?

Thanks.

Peace out and God bless.

There are some little pictures from the 3rd. edition Codex: Imperial Guard, and some in the 4th. edition one, but not much else. There are also some old (~10 years) fluff pieces concerning the Tallarn. If I get a chance, I'll dig through my WDs and find the stories for you.

Just a quick aside question, weren't sand clams taken from an episode of "Dr. Who" (DW).

I am not a DW fan, but I do remember Tom Baker's female assistant getting a bad leg injury from one and the Dr. have to pry it open with a sonic screwdriver.
