Sorry, stupid question which I'm sure has been answered somewhere, but why is this site called "Eastern Fringe"? Is it something to do with "McCragge" being into Macragge/Ultramar, which is in the Eastern Fringe? Or is 'cause you're on the East Coast of the US or something?

To answer your questions, "McCragge" has nothing to do with Utlramar or Ultramarines or any of that. It isn't spelled the same, but I can see the confusion. McCragge is the last name of a RPG character I used to play in my youth, and have used it as my online persona since forever.

As for the Eastern Fringe, I and the original creator "Truckler" have been playing 40k since Rogue Trader days. Later when they came out with 3rd edition 40k, there was a big uprising and rebellion in hating the newer rules. So, several people branched off and made anti new 40k websites and what not. We did the same and decided to name it "Eastern Fringe" after the fluff in Rogue Trader. The Eastern Fringe is outside Imperial influence, full of rogues, mercs, bandits and ne'er-do-wells. We figured, since we don't just focus on 40k, that it would be an ideal name.

McCragge

Got it. Thanks so much. And that's so cool. I just love the way that the political satire about authoritarianism within the fluff has real-world echoes in the relationship between fans of the Imperium (i.e. Games Workshop) and the institution itself.
