siesta is brilliant, I went on holiday to Spain and got totally into the idea of it. early brekkie, big lunch, crash for a few hours, then dinner at 9pm + beers.

class :D

I have never really bought into the idea of a sleep schedule, so I pretty much just sleep whenever I am tired (typically 6-8hrs a day in 3-4hr periods).

You could always go with the modified Kramer, and sleep 1&1/4hrs every 4hrs.

Having a kid, I would suggest sleeping whenever they sleep, but a work schedule may preclude this.

Also, hokie as it sounds, meditation does wonders. I can get the equivalent of a couple hours sleep from 15 minutes of good meditation.

P.S. Tila is called Linden in English.

P.P.S. I forgot to mention that old theater trick of elevating the legs above the chest to make small naps give more energy.

Oh, Gab, you mean the holidays' siesta there. That's even bigger, it's the one that can last for hours! Glad to read you enjoyed our country. :D

Tila is Linden? Linden as in german? Oh, wait, german Linden are "tilos" in spanish... so, damn! Tila is the leaf of the tilos trees, not an herb! At this path, I'll soon discover black powder. Thanks for the clarification.

no mate not a specific holiday, we were in Tarragona for a few weeks and just enjoying the standard siesta, at first finding everything closed in the afternoon was a bit wierd, but we soon got into the swing of things.

Yeah, the "not open from 14:00 to 17:00" thing is a bit strange for visitors, but it makes full sense in the hot summer days. Big surfaces and supermarkets are breaking this beautiful custom, however. Ironically, I live 200 km. south of Tarragona but have never been there. But we are planning some escapades before the winter sets in. And the Home Islands are being targeted, too. Many plans, many plans...
