Good choice of games.

Thanks for the extra entertainment.

I concur... nice work McCragge. I will probably end up spending yet more of my free time here now.

This site has a load of free games that might be helpful (it is where the Warhammer Pokemon game came from). A personal favourite would have to be Kitten Cannon! Completely insane, but hilarious.

Thank you guys, I am glad you like them. The current selection of games was all I could install before I fell asleep at the wheel. However I do plan to add tons of new games.

I will look into those games Widowmaker and see if they are compatible with the arcade MOD (Odds are most can be shoe-horned in)

Also, I will start a new thread for games suggestions and stuff.

In the meantime, it looks like I am going to have to practice some more on that Alien Hominid :)

I would like to recomment BOOM as an excellent game to waste several hours on. The game is a sort of wierd Bomberman/Doom parody. It's from an actual company, Factor Software (in fact I think the best way to find it is to search for the company rather than the game) but it's shareware that seems to have an indefinite "I still don't want to pay you guys" period… so I'm not sure if you could legally put it on the site. Anyway, it's a lot of fun, and I promise not to set any really crazy scores on it.

I think the overall highest scoring individual in the games section should get a custom medal.

It will encourage more people to play games, and add an element of friendly competition.

Pah... you are only saying that because you have the most highscores. That submarines score is really annoying me now. I managed 75, which was made all the more annoying by the fact that I had 2 torpedoes left and could have just got two more two pointers easily if I hadn't ran out of time. How did you get such a good score so quickly?

I think the overall highest scoring individual should be banned for a month, for being such a douchebag.
It would encourage people to do more constructive things, like finish the rules they're supposed to be writing.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself Robbie.

Your rules will never be finished. We will never see them in stores. I think that you should just acknowledge that your rules are something you do for fun and that will never be able to succead as a viable commercial product.

I think of it like the middle aged guys with potbellies still practicing in there garage thinking that one day their rock band will make it big. Its never going to happen. The saddest part though is when you hear their tired excuse... "No one appreciates good rock and roll." Poor souls, at least it keeps them off the streets.

Actually I think he is talking to Yarlen. Aren't they both writing the rules? Or at least it seems to me that Yarlen is fairly involved. Maybe if he wasn't playing games so much they could do this battle report they promised about a month or two ago.

Anyway, I have warmed up to the idea of a medal for the most highscores now!

I do not know what you are talking about, Truckler.

My 40K rules have only ever been something I have done for fun. Anything creative can always be altered and improved, so it is never truly finished.
What the heck could have possibly given you the idea that anyone making their own set of 40K rules ever had any intention of ever selling them? In stores, of all places?
(Though some appreciative Germans did offer me a donation once...)

I think you say these discouraging words out of your own bitterness and jealousy. I know you always wanted to make your own 'ultimate-game'. An idea you appear to have abandoned. I don't know how far you got, but I've never seen you produce anything.
You are like a pot-bellied middle-aged guy that once had a dream, but has accepted that he just doesn't have what it takes to even live that dream as a hobby.
So he gave up and now plays 4th edition.
What's your excuse?

My rules, original ones, and for my interpretation of 40K, may not be widely distributed or even totally complete, but they exist. And by critical assessment on any criteria other than commercial success/popularity, they're better than any comparable rules commercially available.
If you want to dispute that, I'm happy for you to actually make such a critical analysis, though from what I can gather, you can't be bothered actually reading them.

Of course  but if anyone wishes to take the medal away from me they will have to post competative scores.

Let's just say i discovered a situation (completely by accident) within the game that lets me maximise my potential.
I could theoretically boost that score by another 6 points or so.

Hey no problem, I thought you might get a kick out of them :)

Now it looks like I am going to have to get my butt in gear and earn a couple of higher scores.

Are the medals buggy? My profile shows one, but there isn't any under my avatar. Go figure...

No the medals work just fine. Thing is, they aren't automated. I have to manual assign the Medals.

So, once a month I update all the medals on everyones profile....which by the way I will be doing Wednesday night.
