hmmm, lot to think about there.... :-)

but i think i've found a better name: "Anarchy in the UK?" :P

EDIT: and re right tool for the job, that does sound a bit paper scissor stone IMO. And I really don't want to see this turn into Mordheim in harrington jackets :P

so far its mainly been battlefield rules discussion. but please, feel free to jump in with setting/campaign suggestions

EDIT: stuff it, i've taken the hump. i can't think of a realistic, straightforward close combat system. So it's Necromunda plus reach modifier, with charge bonus changed to strength perhaps?

have you looked at no limits the link i posted, they have seem to have tweaked the basic necromunda rules quite nicely.

I will try and rack my brains and give some more creative input next week just snowed under with work and rl at the mo.

I have yeah, and it has the same flaw as the simplified =][= idea i posted: hitting an enemy is dependant on your Ws alone, so a high Ws fighter will hit an opponent with low Ws as often as one with high Ws. And as Robbie pointed out, its the difference between fighter's Ws that should be important.

It wasn't just a cop-out, i do now genuinely think the Necromunda CC system is the best for this sort of thing:
1- it uses the difference between fighter's Ws
2- its simple, so it does a better job of representing the complex whirl of CC than other, more detailed systems IMO
3- its simple, no charts/tables, just a little basic arithmatic.

But if someone has a better idea, i'm all ears...

Thoughts atm- reach, only count positive modifier? (so you don't get a negative mod for shorter weapon, only a positive mod for a longer weapon?). And if it's a D6+Ws with a Ws between 1-10, high Ws will be more important. Parry will work as Necromunda, but will be a skill only (IMO the mordheim parry is basically rubbish)
