Hi. I decided to play your game about 5 minutes ago and..... I don't know where to start... Do I start off with a system? If I do, where is it? And what the hell do I do?

I tried reading the help, but it didn't really answer my questions...

First you have to remember this is in Alpha testing...so a lot of it is trial and error

Secondly, you start with a fleet only, no planets.

However you should either have started on or near New Central.

If so, there is a space port there where you can buy more ships to add to your fleet. Once done, drive around (be sure to jump from planet to planet as to avoid running out of gas) Look for an easy target type planet (Low population, and low tech....and make sure there is at least one or more points in resources on the planet) Attack the planet (make enemies of whoever owns it) once the planet is taken you can extract resources for cash and build a bigger fleet and start kicking butt.

Yeah I started in New Central. I just figured out how to move my ships after 10minutes of being confused. So far, good progress. How do I take systems? It says that there are some unclaimed systems, but I don't know how to take them.

If there is no population on a planet, you need a colony ship. If there is a population but no owner, go to your fleet, then menu where you move your fleet also has the other options for your ships, like claiming a system. Some systems are just dead planets and can't be colonized or claimed, but you can by transport ships and mine the resources from these planets.

Umm... How can I tell if an unclaimed planet has a pop. It says it somewhere right? Oh (&#$@!).... I just lost all of my fleet.... It was destroyed by LongHaul Transorts?!? Wtf, aren't transports non combat units?!?!?!?

What do I do now?

Start over

The information for planets is in the top right side of the screen, but you can only see it if you have a fleet in orbit around the planet.

Clicking on the name of a ship will bring up its stats. Some transports have an attack value.

If your ships were destroyed, odds are you were either declared an enemy by someone or you stumbled on an enemy fleet. Be sure to check your messages as that is where you find information on assualts and many other things.

I know that I stumbled on an enemy fleet. I tried to take the system. The irony is, none of the enemy ships that were things like patrol ships, fighters and the like actually did anything to me. It was those damn LongHaul transports.

All I have left is 23 million yen and a escape pod. What should I do now?

Try making a new character and starting over.

The cost of ships has been increased so it will be harder to buy anything with your 23 yen.

Do you have yahoo messenger? If so, I am on there as...well McCragge. This way I can help you in real time

It's ok, remember this is just an alpha testing, so there will be a lot of trial and error, but once you get it down, this game is very addicting.

Click on your fleet, in the menu area where you tell your fleet to move are all the commands you can give to your fleet, one of those is colonize planet. If that option isn't available, it means you can't colonize that planet for one of several reasons

1, it is owned by another player
2, it is uninhabitable
3, it is populated but remains unclaimed (in which case click the "claim planet" choice)

So I take it that black dwarf stars are uninhabitable? I'm trying to claim one, but it doesn't show up.

Most likely it isn't inhabitable. If the planet only has resources, or has nothing at all, odds are it is uninhabitable.
