if you want me to choose the weapons, i would rather choose thrown weapons such us crossbows, I think that's best for me.

That's basically a lasgun with a hotshot power pack, plus the option to use / not use the hotshot pack. Worth a lot more than +2d6 creds, especially if I'm remembering right and (per the FAQ) switching from Hotshot to normal isn't allowed.


For crossbows, I wouldn't have a move-or-fire limitation. Instead, I'd do them like scaly spearshooters; in fact, necromunda "crossbows" are more likely small spearguns than crossbows. So, you can move and shoot, but have to give up a move to load them. I think the same rule should apply to ratskin muskets- as it stands, they are pretty useless. Old time muzzel loader pistols would be similar.

Hi there,

Maybe it is me, but treading this thread I find A LOT of new stuff and few revisions of old stuff. I thought that the idea was to make the existing game more balanced, not to include stuff to be able to play mordheim with the necromunda rules (spears, bows, crissbows, bucklers...). idem for really strange weaponry.

The game is quite OK as it is and I do not find the current selection of weaponruy to be limited in numbers. I find it lacking some equilibrium, and IMO that is what is supposed to be corrected with an eventual 3.0 necromunda version....

Dunno, but I started reading this hoping to find insights on how to improve the game, not paying a totally different universe with lots of unique weapons that the 40k universe has never heard about, and that has bugged me. :-o I would not like at all a new version of necromunda that introduced the changes discussed here :( This thread should be about changes to the BASIC game, not lots of new weapomns to be found in the workshop of a mad weaponsmith.... At least that was my impression I might be wrong, though.

Reading through (parts of) the thread I have not seejn stuff like "make the lasgun slightly more expensive", 2lower the price of the lascannon" or "get something to make the plasma pistol worthwile". That is the kind of stuff I was hoping to see here...

Xavi, stuff like "weapon A is too expensive" has been covered in he smaller Necro 3.0 threads about specific groups of weapons.

the weapons brainstorming is for exactly what the title says, people just throwing in heir own mad, random, useful ideas of weapons players might like to include.

So if you want to see how we've dealt with weapon balance dig through the forum and find the specific weapon group re-working threads

I've a new idea in the Autogun/Lasgun war :

Everybody want to make the autogun better but why just make the lasgun a bit less effecftive?

My idea :

Just make the lasgun:

0-8 9-24
+1 -


It short range is shorter : it can represent that "puw puw" is far less effective than "dakkadakka"!

i was thinking, is there anyway we could sticky the weapons we're all happy with? i'm trying to build an expanded list, and i shudder to think of anyone else going thru the same effort :{

When writing scenarios I've wondered about a heavy weapon that's great at pinning but doesn't do much damage. Something like;

Flechette cannon
36"
+1/+1
Sus fire 3
Str 1

More of a tactical weapon.
