Hi all,
I've just started to build an epic army which is something that I have wanted to do for a while now! However I've noticed that there is little or no support for this aspect of th hobby now! I was wondering if other epic gamers out there would like to post on this these and let is know where they are and what they collect so that others nearby could possibly chanllenge them to a game! I'll go first as I started it, I collect imperial space marines and I'm from Kent in the UK!

Hey, man! I'm not really an Epic player nor an epic player, but I want to start it at some moment. Probably in one year or two (lots of Necro stuff waiting for attention before) I'll start with some charismatic Guard regiment and a good fat ork warband to present decent battles. Epic seems quick and cheap to collect and paint.
However, I live in Spain, so there is little chance of ever meeting on a tabletop. :(

I love Epic scale games. But sadly my armies had to be abandoned during my great escape from the psycho ex :(

But it doesn't seem that there are many people who actually play these games any more and that makes me sad

That's what sucks. Nobody plays the best games anymore.

Our hobby became more and more "streamlined".. many people play more recent games just because other people do the same and so they have more opponents. We play 40k 2ed, Epic, BFG and Man O'War.. but we are only four peole.. sometimes I think too at the possibility to jump to 40K 5ed (or wait 'till 6ed) just to extend a little more the group.

Sorry for the OT, but it's a topic this one for "retro gaming" I care much about.

Long live Epic, my first wargame! :)

Epic's Dead! GW are now ceasing all support for their epic range. The scouts and Terminators are already gone from the website. The rest will follow as the current stock disappears. What a farce!!

Well there is still Ebay, and with 3d printers we can get at least tanks that way.

:(

This is true; but I wish Tom Kirby and the Board of Directors would cease to turn against their old client base in the search for new customers!

Everyone says Epic and Necromunda weren't selling....well of course they weren't; they had no real support for a decade and were hidden in an obscure part of the website that you would t find unless you were already looking for it!

I remember a time in GWs glorious past when EPIC was the third core game system and was as popular as 40k and more popular than WFB (c. 1990-1992); you literally couldn't open white dwarf without two or three new units and their assorted cards being added! The battle reports were awesome and it was great fun to play. Even after this craze died down it was still very popular right up until GW started to turn off support so they could invest in LotR.

Even Space Hulk was massively popular and was always being expanded in WD! What sort of business model turns off support to popular products....especially when you own the IP!! Crazy!
