Yann Karamoh of Inter is challenged by Mirko Stefani of Pordenone.
Serie A leaders Inter Milan needed a penalty shootout to beat Serie C side Pordenone in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday.

The game finished goalless after extra-time and Luciano Spalletti's much-changed side needed a penalty from

Yuto Nagatomo in sudden-death in the shoot-out to see off their third-tier opponents and reach the quarter-finals.

Goalkeeper Daniele Padelli, who had earlier tipped a Simone Magnaghi shot onto the post, saved from Giulio Parodi in

the shootout to ultimately give Nagatomo the chance to win the game.

Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic came off the bench and wasted good chances for the hosts in normal time,

while Eder Martin and Yann Karamoh were denied by Pordenone goalkeeper Simone Perilli and Mauro Icardi hit the post in extra-time.

But despite Perilli's saves from Milan Skriniar and Roberto Gagliardini in the shoot-out, Pordenone players

Gianvito Misuraca, Luca Lulli and Parodi failed tosbobet convert and Inter scraped through.

Meanwhile, Atalanta climbed to eighth after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Genoa in Tuesday night's rearranged Serie A match.

Following snow in northern Italy, the game was put back by 24 hours, with the hosts looking to build on last week's win at Verona and pull further away from the relegation zone.

Genoa took an early lead through Andrea Bertolacci's low left-foot strike after just four minutes and Diego Laxalt then saw his effort shave the woodwork.

Goalkeeper Mattia Perin produced a fine save from a header by Atalanta defender Rafael Toloi following a free-kick before Josip Ilicic equalised on the stroke of half-time.

At the start of the second half, Atalanta keeper Etrit Berisha denied Goran Pandev following a goalmouth scramble.

On 52 minutes, veteran Atalanta defender Andrea Masiello sbobet headed in at the far post after a free-kick had been flicked through the Genoa penalty area.
